Perangko Wayang is a free Asian dingbat font built around richly drawn wayang figures. Each symbol presents a distinct puppet character with sweeping profiles, elaborate headdresses, curled limbs, and fine costume ornament. The lively linework keeps the collection close to traditional theatrical illustration rather than simplified iconography across a varied cast of expressive faces.
Publishing projects can use these figures in folklore features and cultural programs, where their narrative detail supports the subject directly. They also suit festival posters, performance merchandise, and educational graphics, with each puppet functioning as a highly expressive miniature illustrated emblem on the page instead of neutral lettering.

Wayang is a shadow-puppet tradition in Indonesia. I created “Perangko Wayang” to document this culture.
