Tusch FG by Jörgen Gedeon of Fontgrube AH is a free expressive brush font built from forceful ink strokes, sharp turns, and dramatic shifts in width. Its uneven silhouettes retain the speed of hand-painted lettering.
A music poster is its clearest setting, since the raw shapes can echo distorted guitars, improvised performance, or the physical marks of painted stage graphics, and the same character also suits album art and band merchandise. For craft drink packaging and arts event promotions, the recurring tapered ends and pooled ink shapes can function almost like painted marks, linking the wording directly to labels, illustrations, and handmade graphics.
"This typeface will change the world as we know it today, and take typography to a new dimension." Jörgen Gedeon 1995
Do aid this font in its great mission, I have softened some of its extreme characteristics, completed accented characters plus ß and added some kerning. IMHO this adds to its usability.
I found the font on the web as a conversion from a Mac font (I guess). Readme file and font file name said it was called "Vurt", but the internal name was "tusch". This is the name I chose for my remake.
