Rafael by Cloutier Fontes is a free old-school serif display font with extreme weight, compressed spacing, uneven proportions, massive tightly fitted letters, blunt slab-like feet, and abruptly pinched curves. Its uneven edges and squeezed inner spaces suggest a strongly rough poster-printed surface.
The ink-heavy shapes can merge with distressed illustration and coarse screen-print textures, making gig posters, record sleeves, and horror packaging feel like found vintage print. Its forceful, slightly unruly voice also suits bar branding and festival signage for younger audiences drawn to underground music, skate culture, and rough-edged graphics.
