Nueva España is a free old-school display font with a worn, hand-cut finish. Its broad serifs and uneven stroke widths recall rough wood type, but the rounded joins keep the letters from feeling rigid. Small nicks along the edges make the printing seem aged rather than heavily damaged.
The battered contours connect easily with weathered paper, stamped borders, and vintage illustrations in poster, packaging, and music artwork. It is especially convincing for a tavern sign or historical-themed event poster.
