MetalLord-Regular Tipo de letra

MetalLord by Ray Larabie of Typodermic Fonts Inc. is a free futuristic display font with an aggressively angular silhouette. Broad strokes meet sharp wedges, deep notches, and triangular openings. The changing widths make the letters look cut from folded metal.

Its blade-like geometry can echo spacecraft, armor, and mechanical illustrations in game graphics and science-fiction posters. Album packaging and event merchandise also suit its hard-edged forms, where the repeated points can become part of a metallic emblem or pattern.

Metal Lord was created in 1996. It has been completely redrawn, respaced, and kerned. It is somewhat heavier than the previous version and has a slightly different design based on additional reference material.

The original version was loosely extrapolated from the letters in the Iron Maiden logo. Some letters also appeared in Iron Maiden’s official calendars from the late 1980s. The same font was later found on a 1976 poster for the David Bowie film The Man Who Fell to Earth and on a 1979 real-estate paperback cover. The original designer remains unknown.

A lowercase script S from a 1988 calendar was removed from the main character set but remains available as a stylistic alternate in OpenType applications.

In OpenType-compatible applications, letters may occasionally flip, tuck, or grow small flags to fit together. The font also includes punctuation, symbols, fractions, and numeric ordinals.

The font includes a license permitting free commercial use, sometimes referred to as a desktop license. This permits you to install the font on a computer and use it under the terms of that license. Read the license agreement for details.
