DieselRudolf Reduced by Ingo Zimmermann and Rudolf Diesel of ingoFonts Augsburg is a free brush script with a raw, fast-moving signature style. Broad loops, abrupt tapers, and dry gaps give the lettering the look of ink dragged quickly across paper.

Its streaked marks can merge with sketches or rough photography, making it useful for music posters and album packaging. Fashion graphics also suit its restless line. On event flyers and editorial covers, the sweeping loops can become part of the artwork rather than separate decoration.

Diesel Rudolf Script is based on the original handwriting of Rudolf Diesel.

The engineer and inventor Rudolf Diesel was born in Paris in 1858 and attended school there. In 1870, his family moved to England, and Rudolf was sent to relatives in Augsburg, where he continued his education. After completing his studies in Munich, he began working as an engineer at the Linde machine factory.

Rudolf Diesel’s handwriting reflected both French Latin cursive and the neat German handwriting he learned at the age of 13. It contains mixtures of letter forms within texts and individual words.

The fonts at ingoFonts are available for free download. The downloadable files contain only a reduced font consisting of uppercase and lowercase letters from A to Z and a to z.
