Consolefont, designed by Varun Vachhar of PYRS Fontlab Ltd., is a free illustrated technology display font built from game controllers and electronic hardware. Each letter becomes a compact gadget, combining circular screens, keypads, buttons, cables, and molded plastic silhouettes.
Gaming and retro technology are the obvious subjects, making it useful for lively arcade posters and console-themed events with a playful mechanical slant. It can also turn merchandise lettering into part of the illustration. For toy packaging or an indie game brand, the controller-based forms can make a name read like a shelf of collectible electronic devices rather than ordinary type.
